Below are images of eye shadow placement. The colors and direction are chosen specifically to appear to lift the eye area. The images provide a paint-by-numbers approach, the key is to blend all the layers to create a cohesive look.
Mascara: A good idea for most applications is to apply a non waterproof formula first and then apply a second coat of waterproof. It will provide a better application for straight lashes and be easier to remove when taking off your makeup. Always apply mascara after curling the lashes, if your not comfortable curling the lashes with a curler, simply push up on the lashes before the mascara dries. Before applying false lashes apply your mascara if you want to reuse the false lashes.
For mature - more sparse lashes using a lengthening formula vs a volumizing as a better choice because you don’t want to highlight what you lack. Same with under eye application, if the hair is sparse skip it and use a taupe colored liner under they eyes.
Instead of pumping the tube of mascara (your only inviting air into the tube to make it dry out faster) try rolling the wand into the tube. As far as applying it to lower lashes this is not recommended if you are part of the sparse lash club or tend to have more oiliness under your eye area or tend to have mascara travel under your eyes.
